About the university
The University of Talca was founded in 1981, as a result of the efforts of various stakeholders to open a university in the region and after the merging of the old headquarters of the University of Chile and the Technical University of the State. As of today, it has become one of the main national benchmarks for public non-profit higher education of excellence.
Talca, Linares, and Curicó are the cities where the University of Talca is present in the Maule Region, which is characterized by having beautiful natural environments such as valleys, mountains, and high Andean grasslands.
Ensuring the quality of eduaction, research, and other responsibilities inherent to a university is an unavoidable challenge for our institution, especially in a context of UTalca's increasing number of academic programs and internationalization and the existence of a knowledge society.
